Fascinated from an early age by the world of automobile, André-Marie RUF launched himself in 1975 as AMR into the world of artisan miniature car fabrication . He was one of the veteran of the French model car scene. The style he acquired and refined, is known by collectors the world over and recognized at the first glance. In his own word he explained why :
''My goal is to create models that collectors are thrilled to have and that I am proud of. I work everyday so that to own a Ruf modelcar, becomes owning a true piece of art rather than owning a scale replica modelcar''.

He passed away august the 1st of 2004, aged 58. Bloody leukaemia ...

Huge thanks to Mike Craig and long life to MVM XLIII

Story behind this model : this is the last body created in wax by André-Marie Ruf. At the time when he was working on the 1/12th Titan range Mike Piranha Craig mentionned to AMR that he was building a lot and was finding no time to create new masters for Piranha Models. AMR offered to help Mike as he wanted to have a break from the long process of creating 1/12th scale models and missed working in wax at 1/43 scale. But there was a condition, it had to be a car with character. Mike had just the right thing AMR could'nt refuse. The arrangement was he would create the exterior and Mike would create the interior.
Due to numerous reasons, the kit was never finished, but Mike promised AMR before he passed away that he would finish the project.

There are numerous reasons for kit ref number being 13.
The number of letters in ''Andre-Marie RUF'' is probably the most important.
